The Rotary Club of Nagaon (District 3240) is a premier philanthropic organization in Assam. Healthcare and Community Welfare
The club is a major lifeline for emergency healthcare in the Nagaon district. Recognizing a critical regional need, the club upgraded a local emergency vehicle into a fully functional Mobile ICU van. Additionally, they regularly partner with organizations like the Shri Shirdi Saibaba Sewa Trust to host awareness-cum-assessment camps and facilitate life-saving initiatives, such as funding heart surgeries for children diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease.
Youth Empowerment and Education
The Rotary Club of Nagaon places a strong emphasis on empowering the next generation. The club organized "Taare Zameen Pe 3.0," one of the largest drawing contests in the state, which saw massive participation from 1,670 students. This initiative successfully earned a prestigious state record in the Assam Book of Records for providing children a vibrant platform to showcase their artistic skills. Furthermore, the club routinely hosts educational workshops, such as large-scale career counseling sessions targeting hundreds of local students to help shape their future.
Civic Development and International Outreach
Beyond direct medical and educational aid, the club focuses on enhancing public infrastructure. To improve public convenience, the club spearheaded the construction and inauguration of community waiting sheds, such as the one in Lakhinagar Chariali, providing relief to commuters. Their reach also extends beyond Nagaon, partnering with international and cross-state Rotary chapters (such as clubs in Siliguri) on "Anand Dhara" outreach programs that provide joy, daily essentials, and financial support to regional orphanages
